Palacio Real

It was back down to the IM District today. We finally made it to The Spanish Table. It's a great place. Larger than I thought it would be. It has a wonderful selection of food, wine, cookware, books, and things from Spain and Portugal. The place has a great vibe and a great selection of tinned fish. Some I've seen before, some I had to have. Thanks Andre.

I picked up a few tins while I was there. Tonight's tin is Palacio Real Sardines in olive oil (slightly smoked). Wild Caught. Imported from Spain. $2.99.
Palacio Real
Three gigantor fish, very meaty texture, mild fish flavor, they don't seem as fatty as some. Hardly any salt or smoke flavor. I like big fish. Four out of Five Tins.

In the other tin is Palecio Real Needlefish in olive oil. And They Are Different. VERY firm meat. Oily flavor. GG won't touch them. I'm not going to rate them and not going to finish the tin. Should have bought some pulpo.

While I was there I also picked up a bottle of Maçarico Piri Piri Molho. Portuguese Hot Sauce. It's very intriguing. Killer heat and spice. won't burn your brain, with a nice smokiness. GG is pouring that shit on.

And a bottle of Vinho Verde Branco Adamado, which while a fine example and quite interesting, I'm not digging it with the sardines. I'm grabbing a Pranqster, and saving the wine for later.

I'm dropping my smartass facade for just a minute to ask one simple question. Don't you ever get sick of eating canned fish? I think I could eat it once a week, but you seem to be doing it every day. Be careful. Years ago I won an oyster eating contest. I haven't been able to eat them since. The thought is enough to make me ill. I won the priviledge of never eating another oyster as long as I live. I WON!!!

Yeah, I'm still enjoying them, every couple of days, but I see your point. That happened to me with Rum in Cuba, and Scotch in Scotland, but I've never gotten enough Guinness.
